Primary Cavernous Hemangioma of the Thyroid Gland

Abstract: Hemangioma of the thyroid gland is a rare diagnosis and less than 35 cases have been previously published in literature. The pathogenesis unknown but it suggested to be developmental anomaly which associated with an incapability angioblastic mesenchyma form canals. On microscopic examination, should distinguished from reactive endothelial hyperplasia, angiosarcoma or hemangiosarcoma. We report case primary hemangioma, nonspesific US appearance. Cytologic findings were nondiagnostic final was made at pathologic examination hemithyroidectomy specimen.
